In 1248, when Naseruddin Shah returned from a trip, he ordered the establishment of a hospital in the style of European hospitals. The desired hospital was established in 1251 and named it the government hospital. In this way, the first hospital of Iran was created. The first hospital (government hospital) in 1319 in gratitude to the father of Iranian medicine; Abu Ali Sina was renamed to Sina Hospital.
Now, more than 150 years after its establishment, Sina specialized and superspecialized hospital, with 473 active beds, is considered as one of the largest educational, research and treatment centers of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
This center with the presence of 153 respected members of the faculty and also employing 1089 experienced personnel with the aim of providing the best services in the fields of education, research and treatment has always placed the honor of serving the honorable people of Iran on the top of its work.
